Springtime Energy

SEASONAL ALLERGIES
Do you have seasonal lung or sinus infections with itchy, watery eyes and nose?
Do you have dark circles under your eyes that don't go away with sleep?
Are you taking over the counter drugs for allergies year after year?

There is a natural way to deal with seasonal allergies!

Strengthen: You will want to strengthen your body's ability to defend against those pesky spring pollens and grasses. I suggest you take Nature's Sunshine SUPER SUPPLEMENTAL. It is a full spectrum vitamin and mineral supplement that will feed your entire body so that it has more energy to function at optimum capacity.

Cleanse: When the pollens are heavy in the air, we breathe them into our respiratory systems where they can accumulate. I suggest nasal cleansing using a NETI POT with distilled water and sea salt which aids the body in releasing a build-up of pollen-laden mucous from the sinuses. Also, Nature's Sunshine ALJ neutralizes allergens by nutritional means while encouraging the body to gently cleanse itself. Both will soothe irritated tissues so that you can breathe easier.

Build: It is important to build the body's ability to control inflammation and defend against allergens. Nature's Sunshine HISTABlock does just that with added antioxidant support to strengthen the mast cells which are responsible for inflammation.

Eliminate: Adrenal weakness is a major cause of allergies so it is important to work on the root of the problem. I suggest Nature's Sunshine ADRENAL SUPPORT to provide targeted nutrition with the intent to eliminate your suffering this season and the next.

Go to my product website: www.mynsp.com/murphystouchhealth to purchase the recommended Nature's Sunshine products. They are high quality products for your entire family.

For severe cases, call me on (530) 626-6789 for an appointment. I carry professional grade holistic medicines that can help with the more chronic conditions of seasonal allergies.

Take control this spring, start your natural approach and enjoy the season!

Winter Energy

During the winter some of us seem to be plagued by a seasonal form of depression. It shows up for each of us differently but some common symptoms are; lack of energy, increased sleep, carbohydrate cravings, and afternoon slumps with little energy. With the latest forecast of rain for weeks, we may be experiencing these symptoms for the first time or are feeling even more depressed than usual.

Causes of seasonal depression are unknown but are related to the lack of ambient light and low vitamin D. Getting full spectrum lighting may be a challenge unless you have access to a device. But, you can purchase "daylight" lightbulbs from any hardware store and sit with it shining on you for short periods of time. Regarding, vitamin D, get some for your local health foods store or http://mynsp.com/murphystouchhealth take some as directed on the bottle. Eat foods high in Vitamin D, as well. Those being; eggs, mushrooms, spinach, potatoes, milk or soymilk with added vitamin D, fish especially salmon and beef kidneys/liver. If you want to start your day with a Vitamin D boost try Kellogg's All Bran with Extra Fiber and soymilk with added Vitamin D.

For those energy slumps through-out the day try "Ear Unrolling" Here's how;

Turn your head to the left and then to the right.
Notice any discomfort.
Start unrolling both ears from the top to the bottom while slightly tugging.
Do this 3 times.
Remember to breathe deeply.
Assess your shift by turning your head to the left and then to the right.

Most people find that they have increased energy and that if there was any neck pain it is lessened. You can't hurt yourself by doing "ear unrolling" but do take out your earrings if you wear them so you can get the full effect!

Remember our thoughts direct our moods, so be kind to yourself and know that if God takes care of the birds, He takes care of you too!

Peace, Lisa Murphy

Energy 2010

Happy New Year! Cheers!

It seems to be a common practice to "think" about a New Year's resolution these days but not really make one. We all have a desire for things to be different from 2009, don't we?

If we are reluctant to make a resolution to loose weight, how about one to be successful in business? Or one to get organized? Any change should not overwhelm you like a goal to reduce credit card debt by $50,000 this year. How about a commitment to pay an additional $500 a month towards your credit card debt?

Keeping resolutions real can just about guarantee success. So when you are reflecting on 2009 and setting your direction for 2010, keep it doable, achievable and fun! Remember to tell someone or publish it on your social network. Having someone holding you accountable is a formula that will assure more success.

If you really desire to achieve your resolution, try BioFeedback. I have the tool, you just need to make the resolution and call for an appointment. It is added energy to not only meet your goal but exceed it. Make 2010 a positive year with the changes you desire! (especially since it started with a Blue Moon!)

PS If you call and make an appointment by January 16, 2010, I will discount your first appointment by 25%!

Energy Changes

We all struggle to make changes in our lives. We worry, loose sleep, and daydream of possible directions or solutions to our purpose or problems. It is when we listen to those dreams, to the flash of knowing, that we are equipped to decide. To decide to take action towards making a change is comforting as well as, frightening.

The best part about directing our lives is that when the decision we make is and feels right. There is no doubt about it. It is a knowing that the change is of divine inspiration. We become energetic and somewhat fearless. We take that deep breath and move onto the "when and how" without doubt. The inspiration is likened to becoming the explorer on a quest, the quest of making the change happen with all the tools and equipment necessary.

As a part of our exploration, we might pencil a roadmap, a plan of how we "think" we can make our change happen. We become more aware of the turns and straight aways of our map as we start to implement our plan. We take that first turn on our plan and assess it. This is the time, I have noticed, of the little miracles of confirmation. The little miracles are those subtle "signs" that confirm this step is right, this is now. A personal example of a "sign" is when I was on my quest to find a place to lease, I was looking at many different locations and treatment rooms. The one I without a doubt knew was "IT" was when I was discussing the possiblity with the landlord, a previous client of mine was walking up the stairs only to be filled with JOY to see me. This was my "sign" to decide to lease at this location at this time.

In my experience, when the change or a decision regarding that change is right; divinely inspired, all the "signs" are easy, quick, and without struggle. The feeling is somewhat surreal and I am just floating into the right places, at the right time, with the right resources available. The spontaneous nature of divine inspiration is when my heaven is being created on earth.

The challenge with change is that sometimes we force it to happen. We doubt the change and may have gotten attached to what we want not necessarily what is needed. Change can and is scary because of who we may become in the process. What we might need to let go of or start doing can also boggle the mind. But, when the change is right, when it is divinely inspired, it is a fun, spontaneous, and a joyful experience. It brings about a renewed sense of self and worth. It is your energy in motion and that is unique and valued.

With the new year approaching, remember to reflect on the past year. Look at the things that are working well and the things/behavior that has brought the greatest challenges. Make a resolution to change; to bring about a new part of YOU becoming. Pray. Meditate. Dream. And then, decide.

I am available to assist you in manifesting change in your life that you direct. I will work with you to put more "energy" behind your inspiration. I have tools that can re-calibrate your energy by removing the blockages; electrical, emotional, spiritual, structural, or nutritional, that can be shadowing the "signs" to manifesting your change.

Make an appointment to start your quest into 2010 with energy towards change!
I'm available on (916) 240-2057.

Legal Notification

This is a post to inform;

California passed a law that allows for the Freedom of Health Care. It does a lot of things for Californians. It does have restrictions and one of those applies to me. It was passed sometime in 2003. A fact I just became aware of as I have been preparing to return to a holistic health business this year after having been on a sabatical since 2000.

Back in 1995, I acquired an N.D. credential from Clayton College of Natural Healing. I have removed any and all known references of my name and the N.D. credential. I am in conversation with Clayton College to assess an equivalent so as to put some recognition to the education recieved. Until then, I am using only the title reference of Traditonal Naturopath.

I have never claimed nor professed to be a medical doctor or associated with any of the legend drugs of the medical pharmaceutical industry.

Having been on a documented sabatical since 2000, there is record of NO income earned from any holistic health or naturopathic services.

Since I am returning to a holistic health practice after nine (9) years, let it be known that my clients are required to sign my statement of intent, privacy practices, and an emergency/payment agreement before any services are provided. All these documents are intented to clearly state what I provide and what I do not provide. A copy of all signed documents are provided to my clients and the originals are in my client files.

My primary holistic health service offering is Certified Kinesiology. It is Kinesiology Institute's program that features Touch for Health Kinesiology and Professional Kinesiology Practice of Bruce A J Dewe MD. I completed the Certified Kinesiology Programs I - IV and certification in 1999.

I am insured with the Associated Bodyworkers & Massage Professionals.
I am a member of the Touch for Health Kinesiology Association.

Energy Space

Space is so important to ones sense of safety, privacy, freedom, and creativity. Without the proper space, it would be near impossible to experience empowerment. Positive space allows for growth, increased consciousness, and letting go of the memories that no longer serve us while setting goals to direct ones that will.

There are some spaces that seem to repel us immediately. It is as if one is pushed back from the negative energy as they are about to knock on the door. Have you ever been about to knock and became aware of your gut feeling not to and walk away? Run away? That is intuition guiding us not take that door; not to take that path. To move away quickly and possibly never go back. It is dark, cold, and feels dangerous.

Whereas, there are spaces that seem inviting; friendly but in reality and overtime they are like thieves in the night. The occupants of these spaces are in need; need of their own healing, need to let go of their past, need to control, and the need to move on. These false spaces fester and the more they resist their problems persist and can become ours if initially we trusted the thief. They think/feel everyone else is the reason for their problem. Their space collapses their energy and they try to take as many with them while they fall.

And then there are spaces that draw us there, compelled to not only knock on the door but open it expecting a welcome, a hug, an honest, forgiving other. It is a place one feels safe. It is a sanctuary. It pleases all the senses to experience the quiet of the moment. To take the deep breath and observe peace within and around them is comforting. It is a space of communion.

It is with the last definition that I have designed a space for your holistic health needs. An energy space that you are welcomed, hugged, and with a mutual respect that you and I have the courage to explore your path together for a brief moment. It is not about me; it is about you and us. For we are not alone in our journeys but drawn to each other when it is time to move through elements of life that need some re-direction; to restore wellness.

Space is the boundary that energy is contained within. With compassionate and loving energy, fear can be expelled and healing can be experienced. Having been guided by my ultimate energy definition of space, I am able to offer traditional naturopathy, kinesiology, and biofeedback programs with compassion.

Peace be with you.

Energy Touch

Have you ever just lost all momentum? The drive to move forward because every step you take seems to bring about yet another challenge. It adds to the bucket of challenges not yet dealt with and the weight of it just pulls you down. And, you get to the point of where getting out of bed in the morning is dreaded. How do you get enthusiasm back to get out of bed, plan your day, take action to empty the bucket?

I am sure in your life you have reached a daunting uphill climb as I have now. Circumstances are different but the effect the challenge has may be the same. It is by my own personal experience that I can best communicate and enlighten on the techniques that are effective so that I am taking those steps to reach the top. So....to share my process of gaining momentum and re-gaining enthusiasm, I allow you a snap shot of techniques that I use.

It seems that challenges usually present themselves with the individual response in a typical sequence of reactive, ego and then purposeful. All the while processing it through the mental mind, emotional mind, and then the conscious mind, respectively.

A note here: I've observed that there just might be a state of being before the typical sequence of reactive, ego and purposeful energy. The energy of the challenge needs to transfer into one's field of energy. You have to absorb it into yourself. Much like a batton passing in a relay race but from one mind to another. I wonder if here we would have our greatest defense; to shield ourselves from the energy of the challenge. Humm....more on that technique later.

Getting back to the normal sequence of response to a challenge, there is reaction. I have found that I have very little logic available to me at this point. (Reactive energy is usually a sensation of being personally attacked on some level.- fight or flight.) My imagination seems to get the better of ME. Maybe even some fear or anger too. This is the most physically detrimental stage because of the impact it has on my nervous system. It usually starts with a chain reaction of having a short fuse and mild tremors to wake me up to my state of reactive energy not just spiral- down thoughts.

Everyone will have their own triggers of physical sensation at this stage of energy. I have seen people hold their breath, flush with anger, snort, and even pass out. The gift you can give yourself is to confide in someone you can trust with your back and ask them to observe you to identify your reactions or pray to observe your own reactions for your self. Either way, the more you know about your reactions to challenges the more time you will have to choose differently.

My reactive responses are usually experienced by my most immediate loved ones. They present themselves as nit-pinickiness, being distracted, impatience and certainly many glowering looks. I have also noticed sometimes I shake with a pre-occupied demeanor. My reactive reverie has all but consumed me. Over the years and with some self control, I have learned to rely on a life-enhancing therapy;

Distress Remedy - flower essence go to: www.mynsp.com/murphystouchhealth to purchase this amazing product.

Flower Essence remedies work to address emotional health and mind-body well-being. They work through human energy fields and what more human is the reactive emotional state. The Nature's Sunshine Distress Remedy is one of the most universal combinations and one of the most effective to scale back the reactive mind. It comes in a liquid tincture. This simple and powerful vibrational tincture is more effective than any glass of wine or chemical perscription.

The transistion from being reactive to ego is subtle and often without notice until your thoughts are more consumed this time with not getting what you want. This state of energy can be synonymous with depression. It is typical that you crave foods and beverages that further deplete your vital energy. An attempt to make matters worse.

A technique I have found useful here is to do some acupressure tapping while stating an affirmation. I use the Emotional Freedom Technique. It was developed by Gary Craig and details can be found on his website; http://www.emofree.com/. He has designed a quick fix technique that covers several merdian points. In fact, he offers for free the first training session to provide you with many self help techniques. I am also offering his site without compensation. I use this technique and it is a gift we can share with each other.

On the backside of your hand between the little finger and the ring finger is a divet just past the first knuckles towards the wrist. Try and locate it now. The technique is to tap that particular acupressure point (TW3) and recite a positive statement out loud. My statement is one that Gary Craig developed. "In spite of this ____________, I deeply and completely love accept and respect myself." (The blank is for your unique situation. Examples are; "anger toward my parent", "can of worms with the neighbors", or "lack of control" that can be substituted.) Remember to breathe and tap as frequently as needed as one can flip flop in and out of ego. Do this for about three minutes, once or several times.

Most often when I tap and make my statement, I will shift to a more purposeful mode regarding the challenge. No longer is it taking my enthusiasm and wringing it dry. No longer am I dreading getting out of bed in the morning or after an exhaustive afternoon nap. I notice that I have a small trickle of ideas coming through on my mind's screen. I become aware of possible solutions to the opportunity (no longer a challenge). I usually have it become my muse so I can use it to come up with an even better solution than I might have had without the restraint. I notice it is no longer taking my vital energy down a well. Sometimes, I hum when I here. The burden has been casted upon the Christ within. And, I say a pray of gratitude.

I allow my mind to explore. I take notes. I start with a bubble in the middle of a piece of paper and jot down the original challenge. I "mind-bubble" my possible solutions to the challenge. I take deeper breathes. I pray for the right solution to become known. As it becomes known, I move with more enthusiasm. I thank God. I am grateful for the challenge because now I know I have grown.
